A Spring Day at Sorrento
Sorrento on Port Philip Bay was a magnet today for the locals and visitors.
The first full day of sunshine this spring and the roads and beaches were filling up by mid morning.
Fish and chips by the bay was the main meal for most visitors and the habitual presence of what appeared to be an adoring audience of seagulls is a constant part of the landscape of the peninsula.

An hour and a whole world away
Just one hour from Melbourne is this small but exquisite region which will always surprise even the people who live here.
It has been compared to the Mediterranean but that is just a small part of its magic.
South of the city on the eastern part of Port Philip Bay spreading out across to Western Port Bay and the Bass Strait the peninsula encompasses peaceful sandy beaches, rugged cliffs, seaside villages, surf beaches and a quiet hinterland that is home to over 200 vineyards , wildlife parks , gardens , golf courses , galleries and elegant restaurants serving quality local produce.
There is always something to discover and delight and the people who live here are friendly too.
